The MRC is a publicly funded organisation dedicated to improving human health through world-class medical research. We support research across the entire spectrum of biomedical sciences, from fundamental lab-based science to clinical trials. We fund research in universities and hospitals, in our own units, centres and institutes in the UK, and in our units in Africa.
We’re also committed to developing the skills of researchers and creating environments in which medical research can flourish. We believe it is important to communicate and engage with the public about our work and medical research more generally.
Here we aim to bring you stories about science and medical research relevant to the work of the MRC, as well as the research and scientists we fund. We’ll also report on the diverse activities that we’re involved in, from science festivals and open days to MRC events.
